Yusuf Sermet

Sermet received his PhD from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Iowa and is currently working as a postdoc at IIHR—Hydroscience & Engineering. His research focuses on applying advancements in computer sciences and engineering to environmental problems including climate change, disaster management, and water resources management.

Ibrahim Demir

Dr. Demir leads the University of Iowa Hydroinformatics Lab and his research focuses on hydroinformatics, environmental information systems, scientific visualization, big data analytics, intelligent systems, and information communication. His research projects include intelligent systems, smart assistants and chatbots for flooding, crowdsourced augmented reality applications for environmental monitoring, virtual reality and cyber learning systems for hydrological simulations, and holographic applications for emergency management.
